St queens Education Center is a Community Based Organization (CBO) initiated with an aim of providing an opportunity to children in need of care and protection (CNCP),Orphans and vulnerable Children,Women and youth. The center provides learning opportunities, guidance for character development as well as an opportunity for children to engage in co-curricular activities that promote the physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual nourishment for the well being of children. As the organisation we believe in education as the key to success and through it the level of illiteracy, poverty, social and economical imbalance will reduce as this children will grow up to be successful and responsible members of the community.
It’s important to note that, most of our children live with their guardians. Single parent,Grandparents some infected and affected by HIV AIDS and not able to provide basic needs hence forcing some children to engage in child labor . Due to lack of facilities we only manage to accommodate only 100 children and planning to expand to exceed our current number. Children learning at St Queens education Center have not been able to join public primary schools because of their poor socio economic background that makes it difficult for them to benefit from free Primary Education because they are requested for admission fee, desks (hidden charges imposed to them by school administration). Given that majority of children at St Queens Education Centre belong to this category; we still believe that children have the potential to become productive members of our society despite the challenges.
We are deliberate in building and sustaining strategic partnerships with like- minded organizations, individuals corporates at both local and international donors levels to help leverage on each other’s comparative advantage
We are compelled by love to meet the needs of the vulnerable youth, women and children in diverse contexts and backgrounds.
We uphold and practice Biblical Christian values in all engagement with all our stakeholders
we are committed to high quality results as we deliver our promise to the donor and communities
Since its Formation, the Centre has steadily grown both in size and quality. It started with only 1(one) orphaned child enrolled in class one(1). accommodated in one classroom and one tutor and currently the number of OVC and those in need of basic education has increased to 110 children (boys and girls) from ages 2yrs to 10yrs,using four(4) earthen classrooms(planning to expand as the number of pupils increases) ,that is from baby class to class three (3) .Through the grace of God We have been able to cater for some basic needs of the children, increased the number of teachers from 1 to 4 and introduced feeding programme in school .
